ACTIVHEAL® IS A UK MANUFACTURED RANGE OF WOUND CARE DRESSINGS, THAT OFFERS AFFORDABLE CLINICALLY EFFECTIVE MOIST WOUND HEALING FOR CHRONIC AND ACUTE WOUNDS.

ActivHeal® was developed by Advanced Medical Solutions Ltd (AMS) to offer the NHS a more affordable clinically effective wound care dressing range. We wanted to offer clinicians a simple, clear and cost-effective wound care range whilst ensuring the best clinical outcome for the patient. ActivHeal® offers a full range of generic wound care dressings. The ActivHeal® dressing range facilitates moist wound healing, ensuring that all patient’s wounds have the optimal environment to progress. Available in a range of sizes and shapes, each dressing type offers a variety of features to manage both chronic and acute wounds.

Our world class manufacturing facility in Cheshire focuses on the design, development and manufacturing of innovative and technologically advanced wound care dressings. Our development of products within the wound care market treat chronic and acute wounds through moist wound healing principles. WE ARE THE GLOBAL LEADER IN THE SUPPLY AND MANUFACTURING OF ALGINATE DRESSINGS.

Alginate dressings, produced from seaweed, absorb exudate and donate calcium to the wound area which also helps to stop bleeding. Alginates absorb exudate away from the wound whilst also maintaining an ideal moist wound-healing environment. AMS alginate is available in high-gelling alginates produce a thick fibrous amorphous gel that locks away exudate whilst also maintaining a moist wound environment. Highly integral alginates absorb wound exudate into the dressing, which causes the dressing to swell, this ensures a high wet strength which ensures intact removal from the wound bed.

OUR FOAM DRESSINGS ARE MADE FROM POLYURETHANE FOAM, THIS IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE MICRO-POROUS HYDROPHILIC STRUCTURE.

The foam dressings have the ability to absorb high amounts of exudate whilst also ensuring the dressing can remain in place for prolonged wear times. The hydrophilic foam matrix has a flexible breathable backing whichensures moisture can be transferred through the dressing. This allows a high fluid handling capability whilst also providing a waterproof microbial barrier. The composition of our foam dressing ensures the dressings remains comfortable, protective and easy to apply.

AMORPHOUS HYDROGELS ARE THREE DIMENSIONAL, WATER SWOLLEN, CROSS-LINKED STRUCTURES USUALLY PRODUCED FROM HYDROPHILIC BIOPOLYMERS.

AMS has developed and manufactures hydrogel that encourages cell autolysis of devitalised tissue which facilitates wound healing. The key performance parameter for a hydrogel dressing is the ability to donate fluid to devitalised, necrotic tissue. AMS Hydrogel is an excellent fluid donator compared with the leading competitors.
